Kagitanjo-Jitsu is a practical, no nonsense system of self defense that utilizes the common "hook" cane as the primary weapon for repelling a violent attack. Kagitanjo-Jitsu, or KTJ, combines the power and leverage of the cane with the street-smart techniques of Awase Kenpo-jitsu and other fighting arts to give it unique and effective characteristics as a self-defense system. KTJ was developed primarily for those individuals who, either by need or desire, use a cane in their every day lives. It is easy to learn and easy to apply when necessary.

Special thanks go to Grandmaster Herschel Schenck (8th Dan), founder and chief instructor of the "Awase" fighting arts. As teacher and friend to the founders, Grandmaster Schenck gave them guidance and the benefit of his years of experience in the martial arts.
